Rosemary Bray | Outstanding customer service is more essential than ever before. It used to be that we could rely on quality service or a product alone to get people in the door…and keep them there. In today’s competitive market, however, this is no longer enough to guarantee us success. We must now go above and beyond the patient’s expectation in order to satisfy, to MORE than satisfy. Today, we must commit our Doctor and the entire team to provide a level of service, regardless of the nature of our business or dental specialty, to exceed our patients’, our customers’, expectations and keep them returning – to “Knock Their Socks Off!” We will discuss how this reality affects our Ortho practices, and what we can do to turn our PATIENTS into our FANS, our RAVING FANS. Utilizing the newest and best technology of course is the one way to prove the best of service. Self-ligation, advanced wires, and training your team in these state of the art orthodontic techniques most definitely enhances the level of service you provide and shows your patient your commitment to both their comfort and their excellent treatment outcome.
Dr. Jerry Clark
|
Self Ligation A to Z Whether you are just considering self-ligation or have been utilizing the benefits of self-ligation for some time, this is a lecture you will not want to miss. In this informative and entertaining presentation, Dr. Clark will discuss:
Tips for Tough Times Everyone has been affected by the significant downturn of the economy. In most areas new patient visits are down as is practice income. However, overhead costs continue to rise. Now is the time to make sure all your practice systems are properly in place in order to maximize practice profitability. In this highly informative presentation, Dr. Clark will discuss:

Dr. Lou Chmura | Dr. Chmura offers two courses. The first is titled, “Why in the World Would I Want a Laser?” During this presentation, we’ll review some basic science, show before and after photos, and view videos of certain procedures. We’ll discuss workflows to seamlessly incorporate a laser into your practice and review criteria for successful treatment planning. My goal is to make it valuable and entertaining to both new and experienced users. In the second course, “Using Your Oral Hygiene Protocol to Promote Your Practice,” Dr. Chmura will share the oral hygiene protocol he and his team have developed and explain how we came to a consensus on what each grade means. He’ll show you his presentation to local hygienists and referring doctors and explain how this not only helped us in communicating a consistent message for the patients and parents, but helped them know all we are doing to take care of their patients.

Dr. Dipak Chudasama | The buzz word in orthodontics is ‘self-ligation’; however, most of the recent emphasis has only focused on the importance of the bracket systems. Movement of teeth relies on the appropriate interaction between archwires and bracket systems. Force levels need to be ideal for controlled movement of teeth with minimal risk to both anchorage units and the periodontium. The introduction of new materials and methods in archwire technology challenges the contemporary clinician to re-think the factors that need to be considered in selecting the appropriate archwire for the clinical situation. This lecture discusses the integration of these new materials with clinical excellence.

Dr. Robert Fry
|
Dr. Fry will share his thoughts on why self ligation is gaining in popularity. Having used seven different self-ligating appliances and with over 7,000 cases treated with these appliances, he will show us why self ligation is certainly gaining in popularity and will likely become the orthodontic appliance of the future. Dr. Fry will also address the rapidly changing environment of the orthodontic practice and how to manage these seminal events. These changes will present new and challenging opportunities for the marketing and management of the orthodontic practice.
Dr. Raphael Greenfield | Dr. Greenfield has combined his clinical expertise obtained from treating more than 10,000 non-extraction cases in 30 years of practice using the Coordinated Arch Developmentphilosophy & technique, with his extensive research and exposure to hundreds of Dr. Norman Cetlin’s successfully treated nonextraction cases more than 25 years out of retention. Dr. Greenfield will reveal, with profuse illustrations, the principles and methods necessary to properly diagnose and treat the most difficult nonextraction cases with the utmost confidence! If properly timed, the clinician will possess the knowledge to treat greater than 90% of his or her cases with a proven approach. Achieving long term stability requires controlled upper and lower 1st molar movements, simultaneously, in all three planes. Light, continuous forces of similar magnitude are utilized to “coordinate” these movements. The final orientation of the molars creates occlusal forces through their long axes, with the absence of deflective contacts during function. The molars are placed well within cancellous bone and the “neutral zone” to enhance their compatibility with the periodontium and soft tissue envelope. The resultant position of the anterior segment provides proper incisal guidance and maximizes facial and dental esthetics.
Dr. Mladen Kuftinec | Effective & Efficient Treatment Modality: Interactive Self-Ligation This course involves the refinement of interactive self-ligation systems, particularly the In-Ovation family of attachments, since their initial development. Specifically, Dr. Kuftinec contributed in making the appliance more “user friendly” and perhaps more importantly in offering certain strategies in adapting the interactivity in order to make any recognized orthodontic technique more efficient and effective. These goals are typically achieved by applying tested biological and physical principles under conditions of applying low level forces, low functional friction, and interactivity of the bracket slot, arch wire, and the clip. Dr. Kuftinec offers hands-on sessions to help you understand how the systems can be used in a simple and easy-to-understand way.

Dr. Luis Nelson Nunez | Nowadays we can count on the highest quality and high tech products, which can make our job easier. Nevertheless, we must not forget treatment objectives; they must be the ones leading us to achieve a correct diagnostic and treatment plan and help us to get the best intra and post treatment results. Self-ligating brackets facilitate a lot of our duty and help us to get excellent results, but they are only the vehicle that takes us to the final destiny; they should never direct our treatment plan. Keeping treatment objectives always in our minds, will give us the chance to get the best results for our patients. As Orthodontists, we all know that the most important part of our daily job is Diagnostics. Objectives:

Dr. Gary Opin |
Dr. Opin offers many courses including the following topics: Self Ligation Temporary Anchorage Devices Lasers Cranio Facial Abnormalities Indirect Bonding Impacted Canines Technology
Dr. Ron Roncone
|
Dr. Roncone offers a course titled, "The Ins and Outs of Self Ligation." This lecture will tell you everything you have wanted to know about self-ligation treatment as well as some things you may not want to know. The simplicity of the new invisible self-ligating system (for alignment of the anteriors) will be highlighted. Lingual minor tooth movement is meant for relatively simple, cosmetic changes and it certainly offers much more control, no laboratory fees, and much shorter treatment times than clear aligners.
Dr. Antonino Secchi |
Dr. Secchi's course, "Marriage Between Classic Orthodontic Mechanics and Modern Straight Wire Appliances to Achieve Excellent Clinical Results," will be based on clinical cases where relevant concepts of the Straight Wire Appliance and self-ligating bracket systems will be reviewed. The integration of classic orthodontic mechanics using today’s “state-of-the-art” appliances to obtain excellent clinical results will be addressed. Different clinical situations such as Class II, Class III extractions/non-extraction, open bites, deep bites, etc. will be covered, emphasizing the three stages of treatment mechanics, anchorage preparation and appropriate wire sequence.
